Florida Contractor Faces Over $90k in Penalties for Lack of Fall Protection

Contractor faces OSHA fines for lack of fall protection for roofing workers

The cost of not having fall protection for employees working at heights of 6 feet or higher outweighs the cost of providing proper safety equipment

- At a Naples, Florida residential work site, a Fort Myers-based roofing company was cited by OSHA for exposing employees to dangerous falls

- Facing $91,456 in penalties, the company has 15 business days to comply, request a conference with OSHA's area director, or contest the findings before the independent Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission.

- Follows similar violations cited at another work site just one month earlier. This is this contractor's second penalty after a citation for the same hazards in Odessa, Florida in June 2018.
