New Michigan BLL Regulations Take Effect December 2018

New rule became effective this month lowering Blood Lead Levels (BLL) allowed on Michigan's Job Sites

- A task force of "industry, labor, management, construction, and health/medicine" came together to determine that a worker should be removed from lead exposure when their BLL reaches 30 µg/dL (micrograms of lead per deciliter of blood) and may not return to work involving lead exposure until their BLL is below 15 µg/dL.

- This is as much as half of the previous rates that allowed worker's to remain until their BLL was up to 60 µg/dL.
